Asia Argento, an actress and director at the center of the #MeToo movement, recently paid off a former child actor who said she sexually assaulted him in a Marina del Rey hotel room when he was 17, the New York Times reported Sunday.
Argento was one of the first women to publicly accuse the producer Harvey Weinstein of sexual assault and is also the former girlfriend of the late culinary writer and TV personality Anthony Bourdain.
Asia Argento has not commented on her sexual assault allegations, not responding to several requests for an interview from the New York Times.

Trump nixes $92M parade, says 2019 costs will be ‘WAY DOWN’
Instead, he is blaming the government of the District of Columbia, which is conveniently civilian and heavily African-American. Earlier this year, the White House budget chief said the parade would cost USA taxpayers between $10 million and $30 million.
The publication reports that Bennett, who once played Asia's son in 2004's The Heart Is Deceitful Above All Things, had planned to sue Argento for $3.5m in damages citing emotional distress, lost wages as a result of the encounter.
A statement from Bennett's lawyer to NBC News said their client "does not wish to comment on the documents or the events discussed in the New York Times article this evening".
Bennett's lawyer stated in files obtained by the New York Times that his client made a decision to take the case because "feelings about that day were brought to the forefront recently when Ms. Argento took the spotlight as one of the many victims of Harvey Weinstein". A notice also claimed that Jimmy was traumatized, which hindered his career and affected his mental health. Bennett claims Argento gave him alcohol before proceeding to kiss him and perform oral sex before having intercourse with him.
During Cannes Film Festival's closing ceremony this year, Argento had accused Weinstein of raping her when she was only 21-years-old.
Turkish lira weakens as USA warns of new sanctions over detained pastor
Washington wants the evangelical Christian freed but Turkish officials say the case is a matter for the courts. Turkey shot back on Friday, threatening to respond if the United States levied further sanctions.
The alleged incident happened on May 9, 2013, when one of Bennett's family members drove him to meet Argento at her hotel room.
This was contained in an intent to sue document sent to Argento's lawyer at the time (November 2017) Richard Hofstetter. "And we're not going to allow you to get away with it any longer". "You are a powerful and inspiring creator and it is a miserable condition of life that you live among s-ty individuals who've preyed on both your strengths and your weaknesses".
