The mother of the boy, identified only as Berrin T. under German law, was jailed for 12-and-a-half years while her partner, indentified as Christian L., received a 12-year sentence followed by preventive detention in a case that shocked the country and raised serious questions about child protection services in Germany.
The man, whose name wasn't released for German privacy reasons, was sentenced to ten years in prison and fined €18,000 euros (£16,080).

I have grown leaps and bounds because of the things that I've gone through, and that's one of the things that I went through. I never wanted to let you down. "You were always a Hall of Famer to me.' But Momma, you are the real Hall of Famer".
The stepfather has a previous conviction for paedophilia.
During the trial, it emerged that the couple had sexually abused the boy themselves for at least two years.
The couple were accused of repeatedly raping and abusing the boy from May 2015, and selling him online to other men for sex since 2016, a court in southern Germany said in a statement Tuesday. The girl, who had mental health issues, had on several occasions been given to the 48-year-old woman by her mother to care for her.
They also were ordered to pay $49,200 in damages to the boy and a 3-year-old girl whom they also abused.

The mother was often near the scene of the abuse by other men "to exert a calming influence on her child", and in the case of one client participated herself, the court said.
The woman's partner was supposed to be banned from having contact with children, due to his previous conviction.
Local authorities have been accused of failing to protect the boy from his abusive parents, after officials removed him from his home, but returned him back weeks later.
