Currently, Samsung manufactures over 60 million smartphones annually in India and with the new plant, it is expected to manufacture almost 120 million mobile phones. It will be officially inaugrated today by India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi and South Korean President Moon.
It is on the set of a former plant that used to make refrigerators and TVs, with smartphones joining the production line in 2007.
Called as Samsung Electronics facility, this massive plant is spread over 35 acres of land in Noida Sector 81 area.

Established in 1995, Samsung India laid the foundation stone of Noida plant next year. "Altogether, over 400,000 people are working in those units and Samsung is spearheading this with a workforce of 70,000 people", Modi said.
