The prosecution said in court Wednesday that McArthur, a 66-year-old landscaper, has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of Abdulbasir Faizi.
Those remains have been found in planter pots at a home in midtown Toronto where McArthur worked and stored his equipment.
Speaking at a news conference to provide new information about the investigation, which has made worldwide headlines, lead investigator Det.
McArthur has been charged with killing the three men, as well as Selim Esen, 44, Majeed Kayhan, 58, and Dean Lisowick, 43 or 44. Police have also executed at least two search warrants, including one for a forensic search of McArthur's apartment on Thorncliffe Park Drive, in the city's northeast.

Police are also waiting for warmer weather to investigate other properties associated with McArthur, Idsinga said. They said they had identified three sets of remains belonging to Andrew Kinsman, Soroush Mahmudi, and Navaratnam.
The 44-year-old Brampton man vanished in December 2010 and his auto was later found on Moore Ave - near Mount Pleasant Rd. and St. Clair Ave. E.
Idsinga says police are now re-examining 15 cold cases dating back as far as 1975 in their investigation.
Forensics officers have continued to work at McArthur's apartment since his January arrest.
