The New York Giants have acquired linebacker Alec Ogletree in a trade with the Los Angeles Rams, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Trades can't become official until the new NFL league year opens on March 14. He led their defense in tackles during four of his five seasons, only failing to do so in 2015 when he played in just four games due to a broken leg.

Ogletree, a former first-round pick who was selected with the 30th overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, will nearly certainly become an instant starter in NY.
