In a new twist to the Cambridge Analytica (CA) controversy, whistleblower Christopher Wylie, while testifying in front of the UK Parliament, has said that the Congress might have used Cambridge Analytica for some regional projects. The company, a consultant to President Donald Trump's campaign, is accused of acquiring private information from millions of Facebook users and giving its clients access to the data.
Wylie on Tuesday confirmed that the UK-based CA has offices and employees in India and offered to hand over relevant "documentation" to the Parliamentary committee investigating the matter. "This is what modern colonialism looks like", tweeted Wylie.
Wylie said SCL India has a database of 600 districts and seven lakh villages.
In 2003 Rajasthan elections A major state party contracted SCL India to carry out two pieces of work, one internal and aimed at assessing the party's organisational strength (party audit), the other external and looking at the nature of the voting population, and more particularly, the attitudes and behaviours of politically-active individuals within the state.

While Cambridge Analytica denied the allegations, the media reports have caused concerns across the globe with law enforcement authorities from the United States and the United Kingdom summoning Cambridge Analytica and Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg.
Colorado Democratic Party Chair Morgan Carroll on Wednesday called for Colorado Attorney General Cynthia Coffman to investigate Cambridge Analytica's role in the state's 2014 elections, suggesting Colorado was "the guinea pig" in the company's "experiment" involving USA elections. However, as Recode notes, the Cambridge Analytica leak was not through a Partner Categories association, but rather because a developer chose to sell user information to a third party.

He later added that while influencing elections in developing countries was not overly profitable the company would make its real money by introducing government ministers to businessmen in what he called a "privatized colonizing operation".
